What is the Second Principle of Spiritualism

THE BROTHERHOOD OF MAN

A concept which is in all religions and one which appears to be very straightforward but as the practice of the brotherhood of man is not applied in society it cannot be as straightforward as it would first appear.

The Brotherhood of Man is a natural consequence of the Fatherhood of God. With God acknowledged as the creator of all life, including that of human beings, then it naturally follows that every person is united, through that creative force, to everyone else and are all part of a Family of Man. Brotherhood, therefore, makes sense but not every person seems to be able to accept this. If they did, wars would be things of the past and all mankind would be trying to live in peace with one another.

None of the Seven Principles should ever be viewed as standing alone as they all refer across and support each other and the Brotherhood of Man is applicable throughout eternal progress and man must learn to live with man within the law of cause and effect which is demonstrated in the 6th Principle, Compensation and Retribution hereafter for all the good and evil deeds done on earth.

The Brotherhood of Man will come into its own and become more evident when man moves away from the physical and concentrates more on the spiritual side of his nature. Until then everyone should remember, whether it is liked or it is not; whether it is accepted or it is not; every person is a part of the Divine Plan and must learn to tolerate each other even if it is not always possible to like each other. There is the essence of God in every person so perhaps a starting point would be to love the God that is within everyone which is more positive than sending out negative thoughts to the people who do not conform to Society’s, or an individual’s, idea of morality.
