Frequently asked Questions in relation to the Philosophy of Spiritualism
What is the Third Principle of Spiritualism
THE COMMUNION OF SPIRITS AND THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS This Principle is considered to be the Key Principle within the Philosophy of Spiritualism. It anchors the other Principles thereby giving a factual basis to the philosophy. Evidence of survival has been given throughout recorded time but was not always recognised for what it was. Ancestors have always been worshipped and mediumistic Priests of the various religions supporting Ancestor Worship, have made contact with family and friends in the Spirit World and messages have been relayed to those still on earth. Nothing ever changes! Since Charles B Rosna made the current breakthrough at Hydesville communication is once again taking place between the two worlds. It is gratifying to note that since the 1850s it has been investigated by scientists, parapsychologists, journalists etc., and mediumship now no longer has to be practised behind ‘closed doors’. The evidence of survival of the human personality beyond that change called death, which is being received on a daily basis, brings into sharp focus the physical life and its relation to that of its spiritual counterpart, often completely transforming people’s lives. Knowing eternity is there for everyone adds new depth and meaning to everything in the physical life; knowing that each word, thought and deed will have its own reflection in the spiritual life enhances their significance. While many people consider the ‘Ministry of Angels’ part of this Principle to indicate those Helpers in the Spirit World who work with the healing energies to bring relief to people in need, this Ministry must also include those ‘Higher Minds’ of the Spirit who use entranced mediums to bring to the world spirit philosophy and spirit teachings, the beauty thereof being evident to all who read the transcriptions of such teachings. Through the Communion of Spirits, evidence of eternal life is received together with communication from people in the spirit world who range from family and friends to Guides, Helpers, Teachers ad infinitum. It can quite readily be understood why this Principle is considered to be the cornerstone of Spiritualist Philosophy.
