Frequently asked Questions in relation to the Philosophy of Spiritualism
What is the Sixth Principle of Spiritualism COMPENSATION AND RETRIBUTION Basically this Principle is the principle of what you give, so shall you receive; the law of Cause and Effect. If a person creates a cause then s/he will reap the consequences of such a cause. If it is a good cause then a good effect will be created and if bad, then a detrimental effect will be created. The easiest analogy is food and the physical body. If a person feeds his body with fatty foods, low in all the nourishing vitamins, then he must not be surprised when his body reacts and he finds himself having to cope with various illnesses caused by such stodge. Healthy food helps keep a body healthy. This analogy can be extended to the mental, emotional and even spiritual aspects of man; feed the mind with rubbish, expect rubbish to be the product of such nourishment; feed the emotions with negative thoughts and depressing people, expect emotional instability to occur; feed the spirit (or more particularly, fail to feed it) with anything other than materialistic thoughts and selfish attitudes, then expect no upliftment or inspiration to be forthcoming from that area. This Principle is one of the reasons people should be encouraged to lose all negativity and be positive in their attitudes and approach to life. All religions contain the maxim: As you sow, so shall you reap so it is important that people, acknowledging through the Fifth Principle that they are responsible for their thoughts, words and deeds, realise that a price will be exacted for deliberate wrongdoings and compensation received for services given.
