Frequently asked Questions in relation to the Religion of Spiritualism
Is there a Hell as portrayed in Orthodox Religions?
The short answer to this question is YES! Yes there is a hell but it is not as pictured in the more orthodox religion's scriptures and you do not have to wait to pass from this life for you experience it.
There are many times in our lives when we feel that life could not possibly get any worse - that we are literally in Hell - sometimes this may be physical because of our living conditions and the people we have to live with or it may be a mental state - perhaps you hate your job but cannot leave because people are depending upon you to feed and clothe them - every day is a nightmare and there seems to be no end to it.
The payback situation by which the Priests held people in fear - behave or you will go to hell - is an appalling concept because they (the Priests) then go on to define what is good and what is bad and actually that can be different for different people - no one has all the answers, all any of us can do is try our best at all times and we must never worry about hell fires when we think we may not have got it right.
Eternity is the operative word and Spiritualism gives evidence that we all survive death and that we will all live forever. Fire is part of the physical world and has no place in the spirit world and, in any case, we will be inhabiting spirit rather than physical bodies. So while we may make mistakes while living on earth, we do have eternity in which to learn, put things right and continue on our spiritual pathways.
People who got it seriously wrong while here, and there are many infamous names recorded throughout history of such people, they too will also live forever and they have forever in which to wake up to what they have done. When that occurs and they realise the full horror of their actions and all the peoples' lives they have affected, they have eternity in which to suffer what their own individual spirits (consciences) will put them through. No one will sit in judgment on them (or us) they will do it for themselves and some people will need eternity in order to put things right but no one person is so low that s/he cannot be lifted.
One last thought why would a God of Love (or as Spiritualists see God - a creative energy source) give us existence just to destroy us if we don’t always get it right. Would we punish our children in such a fashion?
God IS Love and loves each one of us beyond all comprehension; God gave us guardians (spirit) to walk with us throughour our lives, to lift us when we fall, to comfort us when we cry and to try and keep us on the right path but who will never leave us even if we do sometimes stumble.
So consign the fires of hell to where they rightly belong - the trash bin and enjoy life to the full for that is the main reason for our existence; experience and enjoyment and learning from those experiences in order to use them to help others enjoy their lives.
