Frequently asked Questions in relation to Spirit
What or who is spirit? An examination of any dictionary will supply a few definitions for the word ‘spirit’. In view of the nature of this site, however, we will give a definition relevant to the word spirit, when used on the site. Mediumship has been inherent within mankind since the dawn of time. Man has always recognised that the death of the physical body is not the end of the life of the animating spirit which inhabited this body while living out its earthly span. Provision was often made for the spirit’s journey into its next life and many civilisations practised Ancestor Worship as being part of life; it was natural to seek the ancestors advice and/or opinions on problems being encountered in the physical world It was known then, and continues to be known, no matter how it may be dressed up or made mystical, that man survives death of the physical body. The majority of religions make provision for this by detailing an afterlife for its members, such afterlife, however, often having many terms and conditions attached to it. Mediums are people who are able to link to souls who are no longer part of this world, having left their physical body at its point of death. These souls give evidence of their continuing survival in a world of spirit which we are told is the place from which we originate. Spirit is the repository for the animating life force while it resides in the physical body. Upon its release the spirit continues to live, albeit now in a different environment. So spirit is man, or the eternal part of man and is not subject to the restrictions or limitations of the physical body. Spirit is the human personality which survives physical death. We are spirit!
