(Doris, David, Vi, Marian, Anabela and Craig)

The following was received from Alex after the Bristol 2005 Seminar - The Wonder of Spirit:

A Credit to Spiritualism

From 17th - 20th June Westbury Park Spiritualist Church in Bristol was the venue for the most amazing seminar I have attended since joining the Spiritualist Movement some years ago. There is a very special atmosphere at Westbury Park and when I met the President, Minister Marian Bishop, and other members of the committee it was easy to see why. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Without the aid of air conditioning on the hottest weekend of the year so far, they even managed to keep the temperature in a church packed out with people at a bearable level. (Perhaps they can give some advice to those working on the Kyoto Agreement.)

The Seminar itself was organised and presented by Rainbows End which is an organistion established by Vi Kipling (FSNU) and Minister Doris Smith whose mission is three fold I think. To encourage people to develop their spiritual and psychic abilities including mediumship, to raise money for the Spiritualist movement (all the proceeds of their seminars are donated to Spiritualist churches and causes); and I think most importantly to bring some magic and fun into peoples lives, which they certainly achieved at Westbury Park.

They were joined by tutors of exceptional calibre namely, Professor David Fontana, Dr Anabela Cardoso, Ron Jordan and Craig Hamilton-Parker and I still have to pinch myself occasionally as it seems too good to be true that I was sat in a church in Bristol listening to an internationally renowned psychic researcher and past president of the SPR and to Dr Anabela Cardoso one of the the world's leading experts and exponents of EVP and ITC. Having read David Fontana's recently published book "Is there an Afterlife?" which I am sure as Professor Archie Roy states in the foreword will become a classic, it is obvious that he holds Doris Smith and Vi Kipling in very high esteem, devoting two pages to the outstanding mediumship of Doris and I think it is because of this that I had to good fortune to sit in such an intimate venue where everyone had the opportunity to listen and ask questions. I don't think I will get this opportunity again to speak with people which such a wide knowledge of the scientific evidence and research into survival. Although you never know with Rainbows End because each time I have attended one of their events I think I will never again have such an outstanding experience but somehow the next one is always more outstanding than the last (I don't know how they do it.)

There is not enough space to describe how much I learned from listening to David and Anabela. It was fascinating listening to David's talk about his experiences as a psychic researcher and also his talk upon the purpose of dreams and the various theories surrounding this subject. I was particularly impressed with David's gentle manner and the way in which he explained theories such as the Super-Psi theory using simple concepts and terms so that it was put forward in a way that everyone could understand when it came to mentioning quantum physics.

I have to confess to sitting in awe listening to Anabela Cardoso as she casually mentioned friends in Interpol and friends working with the FBI who she occasionally calls on for help in order that her tapes can be submitted to the latest voice pattern recognition technology. However, in addition to being a leading exponent of ITC she is also Portugal's Senior Woman Diplomat. Its not often you get to chat with someone who has friends in Interpol over a cup of tea but, if you go to Rainbows End seminars you get used to these little magical moments. Seriously though aside from having connections which she puts to good use to help her experiments her work is phenomenal and we were very lucky that we were able to sit in such close proximity listening to some of the voices which Anabela has recorded using EVP and ITC which were clear and unmistakeable human voices. The EVP voices in particular had such a lovely gentle quality to them. Apparently the UK is like a desert when it comes to EVP and ITC research and Anabela is doing everything she can to promote such research in our country. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the subject is phenomenal and I know she motivated most of the people at the seminar to try out their own experiments at home, giving clear and simple instructions of how we could do this using a simple radio or other source of white noise such as the trickling of a stream or the sound of the waves and a tape recorder. The outstanding thing to me about this is that anyone can experiment with EVP, you do not need to be a medium, which opens up so many possibilities in terms of proof of survival and spirit communication.

In addition to gainig knowledge of the scientific aspect of Spiritualism we enjoyed workshops on psychic awareness, mediumship both in terms of communication and healing and the religion of Spiritualism, the latter being a particularly fun workshop on the Seven Principles which because of the humour and laughter involved those who were new to Spiritualism will understand in a very practical sense which is how we all need to understand them. Ron Jordan in particular brought a lot of fun to the weekend and to the mediumship workshops and I was very impressed with his no nonsense and down to earth approach.

I know from attending other Rainbows End events and talking to other students there is always one moment, if not more than one, during the seminar that just seems to be pure magic and this time for me it happened in one of Ron's workshops. At 2 pm on the Saturday of the seminar I should have been 300 miles away releasing a balloon in memory of my son at a special day, which is organised annually by the Teenage Cancer Unit where my son was treated. Because I knew the seminar would be something really special I had made the difficult decision to go to Bristol instead and at 2 pm was sitting in Ron's mediumship workshop following a visualisation to some beautiful music. It was during this that I experienced a moment of pure bliss as I brought my son to mind and together, from the top of a mountain, we both held a white balloon and let it go. I cannot describe the depth of emotion that came with this but it was beautiful and I sat with tears of love streaming down my face. In a sense this was far more meaningful than if I had gone to the service and is just one example of the magic of a Rainbow's End Seminar.

I know from looking at other people's faces and seeing the amount of tears that were shed both during the day and at the special evening services organised by Rainbow's End that everyone at the seminar has their own particular magic moment to share too. I know that Westbury Park is putting on another Rainbows End Seminar in June 2006. If you can make it I would suggest you contact the church for details as people from this seminar have already booked their place including a lady from the USA who flew to Bristol just for the 4 days because she had heard how spectacular these seminars are. I know from speaking to her that it exceeded all her expectations not just in terms of the knowledge she gained but also because of the special and spiritual atmosphere that was created by Rainbows End and Westbury Park Church, which was a credit to and a beautiful example of Spiritualism in the UK.

Hi Vi,
Congratulations on such an amazing Seminar, at all times packed with wonderous things; more than could have been wished for or expected.  I was very touched by the passion of the event and the three radiant smiles - The Bish, Harmonia and yours.

Every session inspirational and the services were extra special, as were the sessions on EVP.

Would also like to send out a personal thank you to the amazing Ron Jordan, Medium Extraordinaire  -  what a demonstration, and a great Humourist at all times, which happened to be a cornerstone of the Seminar  -  lots of laffs...wonderful!

As a personal reflection, I can say that it will be impossible to forget the warmth and love at Bristol; the drive and passion expressed on these matters of faith  -  remarkable.

Last but not least, thanks to the good people of the Bristol Church itself, all of whom were stars too and........................................... The Delphians  -  fellow travellers  -  friends!  It is rare indeed that one can experience such inquitiveness; rarer still that people are so inquisitive to know that you are ok, enjoying yourself and to be inquisitive for the purpose of casting a radiant smile your way. This was the Essence of the Bristol Seminar  -  never to be forgotten...

As a Seminar in Spiritualism...surely it has no Equal.  As an experience it was a Seminar for all Seasons and for all people.
Thanks to all for the experience...
.................Luv...Yuri...xxx...

Just got back from my holiday, and had to put a message on here.

The seminar was again "the best ever" and a wonderful chance to meet up with friends old and new. Those that didn't know anyone at the beginning of the seminar would have gone home with lots of new friends, with lots of hugs in hand, to keep you going until the next time you meet up. I was sorry to have to miss the Monday evening session, especially when I saw that the Lemon tart turned up.......

Thanks to Joy for ensuring that we all got our pictures, to keep those memories clear in our mind, and for Doris and Vi for all the organising, and of course to the Bristol Church which was so welcoming.

I hope you all missed me on the Monday, bet it was really quiet lol without me badgering you for the raffle tickets.......

Oh well, till the next time I can get together with my friends who are quickly becoming seminar family.
Love Karen and Becky

Hello

Joy agree with you entirely, such a small amount to pay for such a big gain. Listening to both Annabella and David share their knowledge with us made many thoughts come to mind. These people are the crem de la crem (if that's the right expression lol). Highly important highly intelligent wonderful people, and they are approachable, not an ounce of self importance. Their research is invaluable and it was awesome to have experienced.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself and that's thanks to all of you you're all fab

The seminar was awesome again. And as Vi calls us, I am one of the seminar junkies. I can't get enough. But where on earth can you get the teaching, experience, love and happiness for £12 per day?

I learn so much at these seminars. And each one just gets better.

To be able to spend time with Dr Anabella Cardosa, hearing all about her research. WOW. I would never have been able to get that experience anywhere else in this world. And David Fontana gave some wonderful lectures that had us all glued to our seats. These are beautiful people and spent so much time with us to pass on their valuble information. And again all for £12 per day!!! I can hardly believe how lucky I am to be able to go to these seminars. Vi always tells us they are going to be MAGIC. I think she underestimates them. This one was more than magic. There are no words to discribe how wonderful I feel after being able to spend time with so many beautiful people; all the people that organised the seminar, and all the people that attended, I can only say thanks for putting up with me!!! I have paid for the next one so I have my place (if Vi and Doris can put up with me again hehe). To all the beautiful people that were at Bristol... how do I begin to sy how wonderful you are... and how special you made my trip. There are no words...

This morning I feel like Dorothy... I am home now, but boy am I missing Oz and all of you who gave it the wonderful rainbow colors I experienced. The trip home was long... Time to ponder all that happened, to shed a few tears and to know from the inside out how very very special all of you are. So Joy where are the pictures???? And Vi, I am back on my desert island but I still see that beacon of light in the distance. I preparing the raft as we speak... and I am not going to sit here waitng for a nice day to shove off and beginh my journey.

Bless you all for your love, for your warm welcomes, and for the offers of friendship that I know will last right through to the next level...
Bless and know I miss you all, so very much...

First Testimonial is from the President of Westbury Park SNU Church

On that Friday morning Westbury Park could not have imagined the LOVE that was going to descend upon them.As always the greetings, the laughter, the outstretched arms all echoed with this same great LOVE.

WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT?   The Bristol Seminar of  course.

Once again it was the privilege of Westbury Park church to open its doors  for, and to welcome all these lovely people. People from all over the countryside had joined together with others of like mind in this Seminar to learn more about the Spirit Within  -  to be tried and tested in many different ways and still want more  -  and that was just about what happened over the 4 days of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday in Bristol Westbury Park.

The wonderful people who organise this terrific event are known to you all as VI--DORIS--AND JACKIE  -  and now fully inheriting the title as well is ALEX. Well done Alex ((((I think)))) no I really dont mean that.  Accompanying them were Minister Brian and Mary Gledhill who added their gifts to this fantastic weekend.

Although very hot once again (I think you bring the sunshine with you) everyone seemed to cope.  The conversation at breaktimes always seemed to be "its amazing what I  have just learnt". The something different was the Skotography which was amusing to some and amazing to others.

Trance sessions and Healing were well accepted. From a lady who received healing it has been a good result for her and she is progressing very well.

From Mediumship  -  awareness  -  more healing sessions all went so well.  People were saying "I wish that session had gone on longer.  From those who were so willing to teach us,  through the knowledge they had,  we all had the wonderful opportunity to learn so much.

Apart from the Goodbyes the only tears i saw were those connected with the private sittings that people had  Through that sitting they were amazed and of course delighted at some of the evidence of survival they had received.  Tears of course were from the great love and emotion they felt at that time  -  wonderful!  Must have a sitting next time   -  if  there is time.

All to soon Monday came round and it was party night.  WELL!!  What can i say? I am sure that if the talent scouts were out on that Monday night they would have had very favourable pickings. Party night was for everyone one and so many people were ready to step forward and do something  for the entertainment. All were so enjoyable and acclaim was in the applause they all received . Well done everyone xxxxxxx.

Of course gracing us with her presence was the exquisite, simply ravishing, LEMON TART. For Will life will never be the same again but I know he enjoyed it .

From everyone at Westbury Park,  but especially from myself as President, I would like to "Thank " everyone who was there  -  not only the Tutors  -  Teachers, but also those who made the tea and cold drinks; fetched and carried for all manor of reasons. We, at Westbury Park, say "Thank You all" from the bottom of our hearts not only for the donation of £1500 you gave to us  -  but for the dedication of yourselves who came and gave up your time to be with spirit  -  but most of all the wonderful team of RAINBOWS END  -   THANK YOU!

The following comments were taken from a messageboard on the Psychics & Mediums Network site and refer to this particular Seminar

Hi All,

Not sure where to start with a note on the weekend - but here goes !

I knew months ago that I just had to go to Bristol for the Rainbows End seminar, but could never really work out why, and despite several attempts at trying to work out why I should go - I never did. Even on the 3hr drive I still didn't know - but knew that I just had to go. I arrived with no expectations, other than I knew I had to be there. (Lipsy my PA - thanks for arranging all).

Now in hindsight I've realised why I was there !!!!!!! The best way to describe the weekend is this "I personally have learnt more in 4 days than I have in the last 35 years - a truly transformational weekend !" (Vi / Doris - you can quote me on that !)

I'm not sure this server has sufficient capacity for me to list the whole host of benefits I personally received this weekend. However some of the key ones to me where receiving readings from both of my grandmothers and granddad, learning more about oneself and looking inwards, working more easily with spirits and guides, and finally meeting all the amazing and lovely people from the website that I have been speaking to online for years - its so much nicer to give a big (real) hug than just ((( ))).

I know others benefited as a result of me being there too, including some of the readings I did for people, and just talking to everybody. I also know that I helped many others that did not attend the seminar.

You all know that I didn't want to leave, when I was saying my goodbyes, I really did want to stay and didn't want the seminar to end. However I know for a fact that I will see you all again anyway and cant wait. Middlesboro is already in my diary in September, so if you are unsure whether to go or not, refer to my quote above !

Vi, Doris, Jackie, Brian & Mary - my thanks and best wishes to you all,

with love, thanks and best wishes to everyone else as well,

love & light,

Geoff (aka M+ggg00654)

Been home a few hours now and still can't get my head round daily routine. Thought I'd just try to put into words how the seminar has made me feel. I'm not a great poetry writer but I think this sums things up for me:

FOOTPRINTS OF FRIENDS

Virtual friends walking daily life,
Hand in virtual hand,
Talking, learning, growing,
Grasping at life's footholds,
Together with like mind.

But then the day arrives,
When they can join their hands,
Not virtually, but touch that love,
To see the face, to link the name,
To hug, not with brackets on a screen,
But with arms that feel like blankets,
When the world is deep with snow.

The footprints of those friends,
Are left upon our hearts,
As warm reminders of the time,
When we could Laugh Out Loud together,
And give love that has no risk of getting lost in cyberspace.

So a big thank you to everyone that was there.

Love and virtual hugs,

Angie xxxxx

Well said Angie  :  I have carpet burns on me chin where me mouth just kept hitting the floor, lol

I spent most of the time looking like i was catching flies.what an amazing weekend I had, and my eyes kept filling up. I am not a weepy person, far from it, lol but wow, what an emotionally charged weekend..

I canna find the right words actually to fully decribed how I felt. I canna do it justice, meeting everyone and seeing what I saw;  hearing what I heared; feeling what I felt hugging a name from a screen....saying instead of typing.....

I dont think the words have been created yet for me to use so I made one of me own up but still it lacks what i actually felt but times it by a hundred and ya get maybe a % of it

superdoopereyexcellentamuchofantabulaslyamazinglysuperp

loves ya joan
oh...add a mun to the end of it please

Wow thanks Angie you bought back all the emotion i felt along with everyone else.

The weekend was everything, positively charged with emotion, hard work, too hot, exhausting, dynamic, inspiring, wonderful, fantastic, tearful, enlightening, funny etc. I could go on and on and on.

And for it to end with Vi's input - well when you all see the pics you will understand.

and finally nothing but nothing can prepare anyone for purplemoons laugh, side splitting. wow

(((((( love and hugs everyone )))))))))
